Planning your visit to the Dubai Frame
What you see
The Dubai Frame stands 150 metres tall in Zabeel Park, between the old districts and the new city, shaped like a giant picture frame. A lift takes you up to the bridge that joins its two towers, where part of the floor is glass. To the north lie Deira, Bur Dubai and the Creek; to the south, Sheikh Zayed Road and the Burj Khalifa.
The visit starts in a gallery about Dubai's past and ends in a short exhibition about the city's future, so it tells the story of Dubai as much as it shows it.
When to go and how long
Plan an hour to an hour and a half. Late afternoon is a good time: you see the city in daylight, then the lights come on as the sun goes down. The morning, just after opening, is the quietest.
Entry is by time slot, and queues build at the lift at weekends and in the cooler months, the main season — booking ahead saves the wait.
Tickets with transfers and combos
The Frame is a fair walk from the nearest metro station, so many tickets include hotel pickup and drop-off. Others combine it with the Burj Khalifa, the Miracle Garden, Global Village or AYA Universe, or with an evening dhow cruise — a full day of sightseeing in one booking.
The Miracle Garden and Global Village open only in the cooler months, roughly from autumn to spring, so their combos are seasonal. Each listing says what is included. The list is ranked by traveller reviews.
Frequently Asked Questions
How tall is the Dubai Frame?
150 metres. The viewing bridge at the top joins its two towers and has a glass floor section you can walk across.
How long does a visit to the Dubai Frame take?
About an hour to an hour and a half, with the gallery at the start, the bridge at the top and the exhibition on the way out.
Burj Khalifa or Dubai Frame?
They show different things: the Burj Khalifa looks down on the whole city from much higher up, while the Frame puts old and new Dubai side by side from 150 metres — and is usually less crowded. Combo tickets let you do both in one day.
How do I get to the Dubai Frame?
It stands in Zabeel Park, between Bur Dubai and Downtown. Take a taxi or a ticket with hotel transfers; from the nearest metro stations it is a walk of 15–20 minutes.
