Denis Matsuev in Concert

Experience a unique meeting of musical worlds as Denis Matsuev brings his celebrated Classics & Jazz programme to Dubai Opera. Throughout the evening, Matsuev, renowned for his dynamic artistry and expressive command of the piano, leads listeners through a journey that bridges classical masterpieces with the rhythmic spark of jazz.

The concert highlights the interplay between tradition and innovation, as Matsuev’s interpretations move seamlessly from the grandeur and emotional depth of classical music to the lively improvisation and syncopation characteristic of jazz. The programme is designed to showcase contrasts—powerful passages giving way to playful rhythms and unexpected shifts in style, all delivered with Matsuev’s trademark technical brilliance.

Joining Matsuev on stage are a group of exceptional musicians: Andrey Ivanov on double bass, Borislav Strulev on cello, Ekaterina Mochalova on domra, David Tkebuchava on drums, and Sofia Turina on saxophone. Together, this ensemble weaves a textured soundscape, blending the formal elegance of classical performance with jazz’s vibrant spontaneity.

Set against the architectural beauty and acoustics of Dubai Opera, this concert offers both seasoned concertgoers and newcomers a chance to experience the synergy of two musical traditions in the hands of master performers. Presented by M Premiere and MN Live, the evening promises a memorable exploration of sound, style, and collaboration at the heart of Dubai’s cultural scene.
