The Big Wooden Whoopsie at The Junction in Dubai

Step into a wildly inventive retelling of the Trojan War—one that trades ancient heroics for the daily grind. "The Big Wooden Whoopsie" transforms the epic siege of Troy into an offbeat workplace comedy, where time drags on, tempers fray, and even the most legendary warriors are just trying to get through another shift. Kings fuss over their reputation more than their armor, and fighters are more interested in brand deals than actual glory.

At the heart of the chaos stands a Trojan gatekeeper who’s seen it all—and knowingly lets the infamous wooden horse through the city gates, because after ten years, who really cares anymore? The play pokes fun at the absurdity of endless conflict and the bizarre routines that take hold after years on the job. Expect sharp dialogue, quirky characters, and a comedic lens on history’s most famous siege.

This original production, written and produced in Dubai, features a lively ensemble of twelve actors. Premiering at The Junction in Alserkal Avenue, the show brings together local talent for three performances. If you enjoy clever, contemporary takes on classic stories and want to see how a wooden horse becomes the ultimate office blunder, this is the theatre event to catch in Dubai’s arts district.
