Un Air de Famille at The Junction

Step into the world of family dynamics at The Junction in Dubai, where LA TROUPE DE CULTURE EMULSION brings the acclaimed French play "Un Air de Famille" to the stage. This sharply observed comedy, written by Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri, revolves around the Ménard family as they gather for their traditional Friday night dinner at their modest café. What begins as a seemingly routine evening soon unravels, as buried tensions and long-held grievances come bubbling to the surface.

Amidst the clatter of cutlery and half-hearted small talk, the distinct personalities of the family collide. The commanding brother, the weary sister, the silent brother-in-law, and the ever-watchful mother each contribute to a night where politeness gives way to raw honesty. The play deftly exposes the complexities of family relationships, blending caustic wit with moments of painful truth, all set within the intimate confines of a family-run establishment.

Presented in Dubai’s vibrant Alserkal Avenue, The Junction offers an inviting setting for theatre lovers to experience this modern classic. "Un Air de Famille" offers both laughter and insight, making it ideal for anyone drawn to clever dialogue and the relatable chaos of family life. Whether you’re a fan of contemporary theatre or simply curious about a slice of French dramatic humor, this production promises an evening of both reflection and amusement.
