This morning heritage safari offers a unique opportunity for travelers interested in Dubai’s culture, history, and natural landscapes. Starting in Dubai, the excursion transports guests from their hotel or accommodation to the vast Al Marmoom Desert Reserve—a destination ideal for those who appreciate authentic experiences and want to explore the city’s less-traveled side. With easy pickup options from many locations in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman, as well as select cruise terminals and hotels, this tour is designed for convenience, making it accessible to a wide range of visitors.
After reaching the Al Marmoom Desert Reserve, guests transfer into a classic open-air Vintage G Class Mercedes from the 1980s. The journey through the desert unfolds over 30 to 40 minutes, with a dedicated photo stop to capture the breathtaking landscape. During this time, the guide shares fascinating stories about Dubai’s origins, its connection to the desert, and the enduring Bedouin way of life. Wildlife sightings are possible, offering glimpses of native birds and animals that inhabit the reserve’s open dunes.
Upon arrival at the Bedouin Village, guests are welcomed in traditional style with gahwa (Arabic coffee) and sweets. The experience continues with a camel caravan ride, lasting around 10–12 minutes, where the group can soak in the desert’s flora and fauna from a unique vantage point. This camel ride may be repeated for those wishing to enjoy the serenity a bit longer. The Bedouin Village serves as a cultural hub, complete with authentic tents, a restored well, farm animals, and cooking stations, all recreating the atmosphere of traditional desert life.
Returning to the village, activities focus on Emirati customs. Guests watch a live demonstration of Arabic coffee making, participate in an Arabian makeover by trying on traditional attire (Kandura for men, Abaya for women), and have the chance to pose with a majestic falcon—an iconic symbol of the region. The morning culminates in a typical Bedouin breakfast, enjoyed amid the tranquility of the oasis, providing a final taste of the local culinary heritage before the journey back.
Included in this experience are round-trip transfers in a modern air-conditioned vehicle from your Dubai accommodation, the guided ride in a Vintage G Class Mercedes, the camel caravan ride, traditional Bedouin breakfast, a warm welcome with gahwa and sweets, the opportunity to try on Arabic clothing, and a falcon photo session. Not included are gratuities and any personal expenses beyond those specifically mentioned. All food and activities provided are as outlined in the itinerary.
The Al Marmoom Desert Reserve is known for its expansive, unfenced dunes and rich wildlife, making it a prime location for nature and heritage experiences. The Bedouin Village is situated at the heart of the oasis, surrounded by sand dunes and traditional settlements, offering an immersive look at life in the desert. The landscape provides a peaceful contrast to the bustling city, with its golden sands, sparse vegetation, and the occasional appearance of native animals, all under the clear morning sky.
Pickup is arranged from most hotels, apartments, and certain cruise terminals in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman. The group tour accommodates up to 24 travelers, with English-speaking guides leading the experience. Specialized infant seats are available, and children under 5 are welcome at a child rate but may not participate in the camel ride. The tour is not recommended for pregnant women or those with back or neck issues, and is not wheelchair accessible. Travelers should bring sun protection and comfortable clothing. Guests staying in the Rove Marina or Wyndham Dubai Marina areas are advised to walk to the nearby Stella Di Mare Hotel for pickup.
